SHOTS: - getekend kaartje van de spoorlijnen in Amsterdam, waarop de stations Centraal, Muiderpoort, Amstel en het vervallen Weesperpoort-station worden aangegeven; - Weesperpoortstation (versierd tgv het 100-jarig bestaan van de NS); - div. spoorwegovergangen (oa overgang naar 't Gooi) te Amsterdam, die agv het opkrikken van de spoorlijnen komen te vervallen; - ext. Muiderpoortstation; - perron Muiderpoortstation met groot aantal reizigers; - ext. Amstelstation; - hal (met wandschilderingen) en perron Amstelstation, waar eerste trein met notabelen, oa burgemeester W. de Vlugt en minister van Verkeer en Waterstaat J.W. Albarda aankomt; - toespraken door de president van de Nederlandse Spoorwegen, J. Goudriaan, en Albarda in de hal van het Amstelstation. Albarda spreekt in zijn toespraak oa de wens uit dat Nederland neutraal zal blijven en verklaart de stations voor geopend; - div. publieksshots (op 01:48 vlnr: Goudriaan, A.A. van Rhijn, De Vlugt en Gottfried H. Crone (voorzitter KvK Amsterdam) en (links naast lege stoel): A. baron Roëll, Commissaris der Koningin in Noord Holland).
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.; Opening of the Amstelstation and Muiderpoortstation at Amsterdam, which meant a great improvement of the railway traffic. SHOTS: -drawn map of the railroads in Amsterdam, which indicate the stations Central, Muiderpoort, Amstel and the dilapitated Weesperpoort station; -Weesperpoortstation (decorated on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Dutch Railways); - various railway crossings (among others the railway crossing to 't Gooi) at Amsterdam, which are deposed after the improvement of the railways; - ext. Muiderpoortstation; - platform Muiderpoortstation with a large number of passengers; - ext. Amstelstation; - hall (with murals) and platform Amstelstation, where the first train with dignitaries arrive, among others mayor W. de Vlugt and minister of Transport J.W. Albarda; - speeches by the president of the Dutch Railways, J. Goudriaan and Albarda in the hall of the Amstel station. Albarda speaks in his speech amoung others about the wish that the Netherlands will remain neutral and declares the station opened; - various shots of the public (op 00:19:37 vlnr: Goudriaan, A.A. van Rhijn, De Vlugt and Gottfried H.
