Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen entstammt einem Gerichtssiegel Bad Schwalbachs von 1514. Mehrfach verändert, ist es dennoch im Kern gleichgeblieben. Als sprechendes Wappen knüpft es unmittelbar an den Namen Schwalbach an und zeigt eine auf einem Bach sitzende Schwalbe. Allerdings entspricht diese vordergründige Namensdeutung nicht ganz dem eigentlichen Wortsinn. Denn der Wortbestandteil Schwal (Swal) leitet sich nicht von Schwalbe, sondern von Schwall im Sinne von sprudelndem und rauschendem Wasser her.
